Jeremy Lang joined the women's basketball coaching staff as the assistant women's basketball coach in August 2023. Lang joined the Seahawk coaching staff following a year (2023) as an associate coach for the St. Louis Surge, a women's professional basketball team in the Global Basketball Association.
This is the St. Louis, Mo., native's first collegiate coaching job after spending 10 years coaching high school and AAU ball in Indiana and Missouri.
Lang joins a St. Mary's women's basketball program that has advanced to the semifinals of the United East Conference Tournament for the past two seasons under Head Coach Britt Kemp's leadership with a 23-9 mark in league action.
He spent three years as the assistant general manager/head of basketball operations for the Larry Hughes Basketball Academy in St. Louis (2018-2020) before becoming the assistant varsity girls' basketball coach and defensive coordinator at Francis Howell Central High School in Cottleville, Mo., in September 2020.
Lang helped guide the Spartans to a three-year record of 57-23 and the District 6 championship title in his first year at Francis Howell. FHCHS also finished in second place in District 3 in 2021-22. With Lang as the defensive coordinator, the Spartans stifled their opponents, holding them to an average of 39.4 points per game, including 34 points per game during the 2022-23 season.
Additionally, he served for one season as the assistant varsity girls and head junior varsity girls basketball coach at University City High School in University City, Mo. (2016-17) and two seasons as the assistant varsity basketball coach at Evansville Mater Dei High School in Evansville, Ind. (2013-15).
Lang has also been a guest coach at RecruitLook Hoops/Larry Hughes Elite Camp, Lindenwood University Elite Camp, Hoops and Beyond Camp, and Sweet Hoops Elite Girls Showcase.
