Eric Heisler took over the men's and women's tennis programs in February 2016, stepping in for Sona Brymer who resigned to focus on her family. Heisler returned to his alma mater for his first collegiate head coaching job.

He has helped to mentor the local tennis teams at Great Mills H.S. as well organize competitive leagues throughout Southern Maryland since March 2023.

Heisler spent nine years (2011-2020) coaching various youth sports in Southern Maryland such as tee ball, softball, baseball, soccer, and basketball.

He graduated from St. Mary's College with a bachelor of arts in English in 2000 before completing an M.A. in Leadership in Teaching, Administration & Supervision Certification at Notre Dame University of Maryland in 2008.
