Box Score 2 Aston, Pa. – Juniors Michelle Klima (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) and Bianca Livioco (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) earned All-Tournament Team honors at the Knights Invitational hosted by Neumann University after leading the St. Mary's College of Maryland volleyball team to a pair of wins Saturday in the final day of the tournament.
The Seahawks (7-2) posted a four-set victory over Marywood University (6-5) before rebounding with a sweep of Penn State Berks (3-5). In four matches at the Knights Invitational, Klima amassed 41 kills, a .408 hitting percentage, and 10.0 total blocks while Livioco contributed to St. Mary's 3-1 weekend with 53 digs for a 3.79 average.
Senior right-side hitter Shelby Mullennix (California, Md./Leonardtown) paced the Seahawks in their win over Marywood (25-16, 23-25, 25-15, 25-21) with 13 kills and one block solo while senior outside hitter Cecilia Blanc (Gaithersburg, Md./Poolesville) notched double-digit kills as well with 10 and added four service aces.
Blanc finished the match with her first double-double of the season as she aided the defensive effort with 15 digs. Livioco collected a team-best 17 digs on the defensive side of the ball while first-year middle hitter Jenny Staab (Cockeysville, Md./Institute of Notre Dame) registered three block solos and three block assists at the net.
Senior setter Dani Thorne (Alexandria, Va./T.C. Williams) helped out the Seahawk attack with a career-high 24 assists while first-year setter Grace Chao (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) added 17.
Klima led the way in the team's victory over Penn State Berks (25-21, 25-23, 25-18) with eight kills and 2.0 blocks while senior outside hitter Jenn Rindone (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) tallied seven kills and six digs.
First-year middle hitter Karlee Vaillant (Arnold, Md./Broadneck) served up three aces while contributing three kills, two digs and 2.0 blocks as well. It was déjà vu for Livioco as she came up with another team-best 17 digs on the defensive front. Thorne registered 15 assists, six digs and four kills while Chao dished a dozen helpers and picked up five digs and two aces.
Penn State Berks was led by sophomore Kayla Mosser's (Allentown, Pa.) nine kills while sophomore libero Victoria Young (Emmaus, Pa.) had a team-high 15 digs.
The Seahawks will be back in action on Tuesday, September 18 as St. Mary's welcomes No. 24 Salisbury University (13-1) to the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center Arena for Capital Athletic Conference action at 7:00 pm.
