ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Sophomore attackman
Aiden Doyle (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) found the back of the net a career-tying six times Wednesday night (Mar. 1) to lead the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's lacrosse team to their second consecutive 20-goal game. St. Mary's College (3-2) posted a 20-8 victory over the visiting Marymount (Va.) University Saints (1-2) for its second consecutive triumph.
How It Happened
- Back-to-back goals by Doyle gave the Seahawks the early 3-0 lead before Jack Williams interrupted the hosts' run with an unassisted goal. Junior attackman Billy Higgins (New Market, Md./Linganore) sent St. Mary's into the second quarter with a 4-1 lead.
- Between the second and third frames, the Seahawks put up 13 goals as Doyle unleashed four goals and an assist while sophomore attackman Keegan Preis (Upper Falls, Md./Loyola Blakefield) added two scores and two helpers.
- Marymount's best offensive performance came in the third stanza as the Saints scored five times to cut the lead to 11-5 – the smallest deficit since 5-2 in the second period.

- The Seahawks held the Saints to just one goal in three of the fourth quarters.
- St. Mary's tallied a 43-32 shot advantage and edged Marymount, 33-31, in ground balls.

- Doyle matched his career-best of six goals while tallying a season-high eight points.
- Higgins ended the night with his second career hat trick on three goals while Preis contributed two goals and two assists.
- Senior attackman Walker Krizman (Damascus, Md./Damascus) recorded three points as well with two goals and an assist.
- Junior defenseman Brandon Dabkowski (Cockeysville, Md./Dulaney) and sophomores Jeremy Heath (Chester, Md./Kent Island) and Quinnten Hatfield (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) all registered two caused turnovers each.
- Senior goalie Ben Robertson (Davidsonville, Md./South River) made a career-best 13 saves in 49 minutes of action.
Marymount Game Notes
- Ciaran Connolly and Chris Bochillo each scored twice to lead the Saints.
- In goal, Matthew Davis gave up 11 goals and collected four stops in 33 minutes.
- Marymount now falls to 2-33 all-time against the Seahawks. The Saints' last win over St. Mary's was a 13-8 decision on April 8, 2017, in Arlington, Va.
