Women's Tennis Falls to Washington College in Second Match of PTR Spring Tennis Fest

Hilton Head Island, SC. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland Women's Tennis team took on the Shorewomen of Washington College on the road in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. This was the second match of the PTR Spring Tennis Fest. Yesterday, March 15th, the Seahawks were blanked by the Shorewomen in both singles and doubles. 

How It Happened:

Doubles

  • The Seahawks lost all three of their doubles matches.

Singles

  • The Seahawks lost all six of their singles matches. 

  • Amber Manspeaker in the number two singles spot had the closest winning attempt. Her first set was only a 6-4 loss to the Shorewomen, and in the second she fell 6-2. 

  • Bella Sterner in the number six singles spot blanked her first set but came back strong in the second only falling 6-4. 

Up Next for the Seahawks

The Seahawks will be back in action on Saturday, March 25th as they travel to York College of Pennsylvania to take on the Spartans.
