ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's lacrosse team, the defending United East Conference champions, opened league action with a statement win Wednesday afternoon (March 8). St. Mary's College (5-2, 1-0 UEC) dominated Penn College (5-1, 0-1 UEC) from start to finish, commanding a 29-7 victory in the conference-opener for both sides. How It Happened
- St. Mary's rattled off three straight before the two sides alternated the final six goals of the first quarter, giving the Seahawks a 6-3 lead heading into the second frame.
- The hosts put the game away in the second with 10 unanswered goals to take a 16-3 advantage into halftime.
- Penn College's offensive woes continued in the second half as the Seahawks outscored the visitors, 13-4 over the final 30 minutes of the game.

This was Martel's second hat trick of the season as he notched three goals and an assist while McNulty picked up his first career points with his first career hat trick on three goals.
- Sophomore Cullen McKay (Urbana, Md./Urbana) relieved senior goalie Ben Robertson (Davidsonville, Md./South River) at the start of the second half, recording career-bests of three saves, two caused turnovers, and two ground balls.

- The Wildcats had three players finish with a goal and an assist while Brody Borkowski went 9-of-23 at face-off X with a team-best four ground balls.
- This was Penn College's first loss of the season, and the Wildcats drop to 0-3 against St. Mary's all-time.
