SPARKS, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's lacrosse team took on No. 14 Dickinson College Saturday afternoon (April 1) on Tierney Field at the USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. St. Mary's College (7-5) saw its two-game win streak snapped with a 15-7 setback at the hands of Dickinson (7-3).
How It Happened
- Dickinson came out red hot as the Red Devils scored 39 seconds into the game and jumped out to a 9-0 lead through the first 18 minutes of the contest.
- Sophomore attackman Keegan Preis (Upper Falls, Md./Loyola Blakefield) picked up a goal and an assist in the final 8:46 of the first half to help St. Mary's trim the deficit to 10-2 at halftime.
- The momentum stayed with the Seahawks as first-year attackman Joshua Martel (Linthicum, Md./North County) scored back-to-back goals to open the third quarter and pull St. Mary's within six.
- The Red Devils responded with four unanswered goals before first-year defensive midfielder Garrett Brodfuehrer (Lexington Park, Md./St. Mary's Ryken) tallied one for the Seahawks as the horn sounded to end the third.
- Brodfuehrer and Preis made it a 3-0 St. Mary's run to close the gap to 14-7 with 4:20 remaining in the game.
- The Seahawks turned the ball over four times and generated just three shots in the final minutes of the contest.

- Sophomore defensive midfielder Quinnten Hatfield (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) picked up a team-tying four ground balls while junior defenseman Ethan Little (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) collected three caused turnovers and three loose ball pickups.
- Senior goalie Ben Robertson (Davidsonville, Md./South River) came up with a career-best 15 saves as the Seahawks faced their third nationally ranked opponent of the season.
Dickinson Game Notes
- This is the Red Devils' 10th consecutive win over St. Mary's.
- James Isaacson also finished with a game-tying four points on two goals and two assists while Chris Brandau made four stops in nearly 54 minutes of action.
