St. Mary’s College Men’s Lacrosse Scores 29 on Senior Day

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's lacrosse team found the back of the net 29 times Saturday afternoon (April 29), celebrating their eight seniors with a bang. St. Mary's College (11-5, 5-0 UEC) finished the regular season with a 29-0 victory over La Roche University (0-12, 0-5 UEC) to post the program's fourth undefeated conference season.
 
How It Happened
  • The Seahawks opened the game with 14 goals in the first quarter and headed into halftime with a 19-0 lead.
  • Both head coaches agreed to use a running clock for the second half.
  • La Roche fired off one shot in the second, third, and fourth periods to finish with three for the game.

Inside the Box Score
  • St. Mary's won all 32 face-offs as senior Mitch Boudreau (Towson, Md./Towson) went 17-for-17 and first-year Matteo Ciccarello (Crofton, Md./Arundel) was 15-of-15.
  • Shots finished 46-3 in favor of the Seahawks while the hosts won the ground ball battle, 51-5, as Boudreau scooped up a season- and career-high 17 grounders and Ciccarello picked up a season- and career-best 14.
  • The Seahawks were a perfect 11-for-11 on clears.

  • First-year attackman Ryan Roth (Lynchburg, Va./Jefferson Forest) led all point-getters with a season- and career-best six points on a season- and career-tying two goals and a season- and career-high four assists.
  • Senior midfielder Cal Wilcox (Fallston, Md./Fallston) was the game's top-goal scorer with a season- and career-high four goals.
  • First-year defensive midfielder Nick Machiran (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) registered his first career hat trick with three goals.
  • First-year attackman Liam McNulty (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) tallied season- and career-bests of three assists and five points while adding two goals.
  • Sophomore attackman Keegan Preis (Upper Falls, Md./Loyola Blakefield) handed out five dimes.
  • Senior defensive midfielder Reece Small (Lineboro, Md./Manchester Valley) forced a season- and career-best two turnovers while scoring the eight goal of his career.

  • Conner Radecki made six saves as the Redhawks finished the 2023 campaign winless.
