How it Happened

The Seahawks set the tone of the first set by notching the first point with a service ace by Lauren Panageotou (Baltimore, MD). This energy continued as Meghan Stevens (Westminster, MD) crushed two back-to-back kills followed by two service aces by Julia Bobrowski (California, MD). The Seahawks snuck away with the last five points, winning the first set 25-18.

The second set proved to be more of a battle for the Seahawks. The points between the Seahawks and Wildcats stayed even up until the tenth point. The back and forth included kills by Mia Hayes (Williamsburg, VA) and Grace Caudell (Hagerstown, MD). Julia Bobrowski sealed off the second set with a service ace (25-20).

The third and final set was dominated by the Seahawks. Jillian Zukley's (Severna Park, MD) kill created an early five-point gap between the Seahawks and Wildcats. The Wildcats struggled to get into the double digits as the Seahawks pounded kills from Meghan Stevens and Ellie Matthews (Hollywood, MD). The Seahawks capitalized on a kill from Julia Bobrowski to end the third and final set 25-17.

The St. Mary's Volleyball hits the road on Saturday, September 16th to Chestertown, Maryland where they will face the Shorewoman of Washington College at 12:00 PM. The Seahawks will also match up with the Gators of Notre Dame of Maryland later that same day.
