How it Happened

The first set started off strong for the Seahawks as they immediately made a 5-1 lead over the Cardinals with two kills by Meghan Stevens (Westminster, MD). However, the Cardinals quickly caught up. The match was kept between a point until the 11th point where the Cardinals went on a six-point streak. While the Seahawks fought hard, they were unable to recover and fell in the first set 25-18

The Cardinals created a five-point gap early in the second set (6-1). The Seahawks struggled to get on the board as the Cardinals took off ahead of them. While Meghan Stevens, Grace Caudell (Hagerstown, MD), and Julia Bobrowski (California, MD) all had kills, it wasn't enough to take down the Cardinals. The Seahawks fell 25-14 in the second set.

The third and final set of the night was a battle of the birds. While the Cardinals had an early lead (8-4) the Seahawks weren't going down without a fight. The Seahawks gained momentum and were leading 10-9. Yet, the Cardinals soared past them and took the third set 25-14.
