St. Mary's City, MD- The St. Mary's College of Maryland Volleyball team (12-9) hosted Saint Elizabeth College (7-10) for another United East Conference contest. The Seahawks defeated the Eagles in three sets to win their third straight.

How it Happened

• The Seahawks jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in set one. Saint Elizabeth was able to stay within striking distance, and eventually tied the game at 11. St. Mary's scored the next three points to make it 14-11 and were able to keep the Eagles from evening the game for the rest of the set. Arielle Lubeck recorded the final kill of the set as the Seahawks took a 1-0 lead. 

• St. Mary's was able to gain more and more momentum as the match went on. After a back and forth start to the second set, the Seahawks eventually took control and jumped out to a 14-6 lead after strong offensive efforts from Maya Mauro and Gracie Zartman. St. Mary's scored the final four points of the set. Gracie Zartman and Kaleigh Wiseman each had a kill to help the Seahawks close it out. 

• The Seahawks took an 8-2 lead to start what turned out to be the final set of the contest. Julia Bobrowski went on a five point service run that featured two aces and kills from Margaret McGlothlin and Maya Mauro. St. Mary's continued to capitalize on Eagle errors and got to the brink of a three set sweep at 23-8. The Eagles threatened to make the third set interesting with five unanswered points, but St. Mary's got the two points they needed to win 25-13.
