St. Mary's City, MD- The St. Mary's College of Maryland Volleyball team (15-10) welcomed the Lions of Penn State Harrisburg (14-7) for a United East Conference contest. The Seahawks defeated the Lions in three straight sets.

St. Mary's went on the first run of the match, jumping out in front of Penn State Harrisburg, 13-7. The Lions answered back and cut the Seahawk lead to one at 18-17. Penn State Harrisburg eventually reached set point at 24-23. With their backs against the wall, St. Mary's rattled off the final three points of the set. A Lion error tied the set back up at 24. Ellie Matthews followed that up with a kill and Maya Mauro clinched the set victory with a service ace.

The second set started all St. Mary's, as they raced out to an 11-2 lead. Stella Marrero, Maya Mauro and Julia Bobrowski all made large contributions to start the set. From that point on. the closest the Lions came to catching the Seahawks in the set was seven points. St. Mary's played a complete set and earned a 25-17 victory.

The Lions and Seahawks went back and forth to begin the third set, as neither team could gain much of an advantage. St. Mary's eventually broke through and went on a five point run that featured kills from Maya Mauro, Julia Bobrowski, and Grace Gilmore to give themselves a 19-13 lead. Penn State Harrisburg didn't go away quietly and chipped away until they cut the Seahawk lead to just two at 23-21. St. Mary's responded with two straight points with kills from Maya Mauro and Kaleigh Wiseman to clinch the match.
