ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Three different Seahawks found the back of the net Saturday afternoon (Oct. 5) as the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's soccer team moved to 2-0-0 in United East Conference action. St. Mary's College (3-6-2, 2-0-0 UEC) held on for a 3-2 triumph over Lancaster Bible College (3-6-1, 1-2-0 UEC) as the Seahawks battled with just 10 players for the second straight game.
How It Happened
- SMCM claimed an early 1-0 lead in the 13th minute as senior forward Abdoul Anounkou (Togo/Springbrook [Md.]) set up sophomore forward Lucas Evans (Greenbelt, Md./South River) for his first goal as a Seahawk.
- Dan Marcroft gave Lancaster Bible two great opportunities in the first half with the first one in the 10th minute being turned away by sophomore goalie Jordon Eckman (Fallston, Md./Loyola Blakefield) and second one at 19:00 ricocheting off the crossbar.
- St. Mary's College maintained a one-goal advantage until the 53rd minute when Marcroft finally broke through for the Chargers, finishing off a pass from Andrew Cox.
- The Seahawks went back up by one in the 62nd minute junior defender Jack Nelson (Ellicott City, Md./River Hill), who was at the far post, deflected in a corner kick by senior forward Alex Ochman (Rockville, Md./T.S. Wootton).
- SMCM went down to 10 players with 20 minutes remaining in regulation as first-year Zach Blaum (Richmond, Va./Atlee) was sent off with two yellow cards.
- St. Mary's College gave itself breathing room as sophomore forward Franco Reyes (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair) put in a loose ball in the 76th minute for a two-goal cushion.
- LBC earned a penalty kick in the 88th minute and Ben Nolt buried into the middle of the right-side netting.

- Total shots were even as each side took 15 while the Chargers owned a 7-6 margin in shot on goal.
- The Seahawks notched a 7-1 margin in corner kicks.

- Evans led the Seahawks with four shots and one goal while Reyes tallied the game-winning goal.
