Owings Mills, MD-- The St. Mary's College of Maryland Women's Basketball Team (6-4) welcomed the Mustangs of Stevenson University (4-4) for a non-conference matchup. The Seahawks fell short, 63-54. Â

The Seahawks and Mustangs played a highly competitive, back and forth, first quarter of play. Stevenson led by two after the opening 10 minutes. Tramarie Mobray had a strong first quarter for St. Mary's, scoring six points. Keira Mason put in four points for the Seahawks as well.Â

The second quarter belonged to Stevenson, as they doubled up St. Mary's in points, 20-10. The Mustangs took a 12 point advantage into the locker room with a 36-24 lead. Tramarie Mobray continued to produce for St. Mary's. Mobray scored four of the Seahawks' 10 points.Â

The start of the new half was a defensive struggle for both teams. Neither the Mustangs or Seahawks could get much going on the offensive side of the ball. St. Mary's scored seven third quarter points and trailed Stevenson 51-31 going into the final 10 minutes. Tramarie Mobray scored all seven third quarter points for the Seahawks.Â

Down 17 with under three minutes left in the game, the Seahawks began to find a rhythm offensively. Tramarie Mobray and Keira Mason made things happen in the paint. Both Mobray and Mason did a great job of finishing around the basket, or drawing a foul and converting at the free throw line. The Mustang lead was suddenly only at six with under a minute to go. Unfortunately for the Seahawks, it was too little too late. The Mustangs held on to win, 63-54. Â
