Hampden-Sydney, VA-- The St. Mary's College of Maryland Baseball Team (1-3) concluded their weekend with their first double header of the year, facing off against the Hampden-Sydney Tigers. The Seahawks fell in both seven inning games, dropping the first 15-1 and the second 9-3. Â
How It Happened (Game 1)

The Tigers scored the first 14 runs of the game. St. Mary's had the bases loaded in the top of the second inning with a chance to chip into the Hampden-Sydney lead. Unfortunately for the Seahawks, Layne Lesko popped up to the infield to end the inning with three base runners on. Adrian Auber recorded an RBI in the top of the sixth inning that sent Chase O'Dell home from third. O'Dell got on base earlier in the inning off of a walk.Â

Hampden-Sydney would go on to win game one, 15-1.

Gavin Wathen got the Seahawks on the board first with an RBI single in the top of the first inning. Cole Tarleton and Chase O'Dell each recorded singles earlier in the inning to set up Wathen.Â

The Tigers recaptured the lead after scoring two runs in the bottom of the third. St. Mary's had an opportunity to tie the game back up in the top of the fourth after a Gavin Wathen single and a Trevor Smith sacrifice bunt. Wathen would eventually advance to third with two outs. The run threat would stop there and Hampden-Sydney retained their lead.Â

Hampden-Sydney would keep adding runs and led 8-1 going into the top of the fifth. The Seahawks would keep fighting as Cole Tarleton connected on an RBI double to score George Berbakos from first. St. Mary's batted until the end and added another run in the top top of the seventh off another Cole Tarleton RBI. The runs would end there for St. Mary's. Hampden-Sydney took game two, 9-3.Â
