BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's lacrosse team opened United East Conference action with a bang Wednesday afternoon (Mar. 27). St. Mary's College (7-2, 1-0 UEC) had 15 different Seahawks find the back of the net in a 29-1 road conference win over Rosemont College (1-6, 0-1 UEC).
How It Happened
- The first quarter saw SMCM open a 9-0 advantage as sophomore attackman Joshua Martel (Linthicum, Md./North County) recorded a first-quarter hat trick with three goals while senior Billy Higgins (New Market, Md./Linganore) scored twice.
- Rosemont notched the first goal of the second period at 13:32 as Nathan Howe tallied an unassisted goal for the Ravens. St. Mary's College scored the next six to hold a 15-1 lead at halftime.
- The Seahawks then stretched their 6-0 run to 20 unanswered goals over the final two quarters.

- St. Mary's College outshot the Ravens, 71-6, and posted a 46-13 margin in ground balls.
- Sophomore Matteo Ciccarello (Crofton, Md./Arundel) took all 33 face-offs and won all but one for a career-best 32 face-off wins while picking up a career-high 26 ground balls.

- Eight Seahawks registered multiple-goal games while attackmen Keegan Preis (Upper Falls, Md./Loyola Blakefield) and Quinn McLaughlin (Fallston, Md./Fallston) each dished out a pair of assists.
- Sophomore attackman Liam McNulty (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) paced SMCM in the win with a career-high four goals for his second career hat trick.
- Martel, seniors Johnny McGrain (Lutherville-Timonium, Md./Dulaney) and Brett Weiner (Reisterstown, Md./Dulaney), and first-year midfielder Adrian Garcia (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) each contributed three goals in the victory.
- These were Garcia's first career points as a Seahawk while McGrain recorded his second straight hat trick and Weiner scored his second career hat trick.
- Senior midfielders Austin Borns (Forest Hill, Md./North Harford) and senior midfielder Mark LoPresto (Elkton, Md./Tome) both netted their first goal of the season.
- First-year Ty Grove (Finksburg, Md./Saint John's Catholic Prep) and fifth-year Ben Robertson (Davidsonville, Md./South River) split equal time in the goal with Robertson making the lone save.

- Andrew Menold made 19 saves in the Ravens' third straight loss.
