BALTIMORE, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's outdoor track & field team came in 13th in the 19-team field with 18 points at the Johns Hopkins University/Loyola University Maryland Invitational on Saturday (Apr. 20).
Johns Hopkins took first with 143.5 points followed by Division II Millersville University in second place (134.66 pts) and Washington & Lee University in third (79 pts).
St. Mary's College registered three program records as well as nine personal records.
How It Happened
- First-year Jillian Zukley (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) notched three Top 10 finishes. Zukley came in fourth in the shot put with 11.83m while placing fifth in the discus throw with 32.67m. She then tallied a school record and personal-best distance of 36.01m for ninth in the hammer throw. Zukley displaced Meaghan Collins' previous mark of 34.81m from April 2, 2022.
- The foursome of sophomore Chloe Tolson (Waldorf, Md./North Point), first-year Avery Arizzi (Arnold, Md./Broadneck), sophomore Tramarie Mobray (Glen Burnie, Md./Glen Burnie), and fifth-year Ariat Ojulu (Baltimore, Md./Dundalk) collected an 11th-place finish in the 4x100m relay in 54.28.
- Sophomore Chay'La Rivers (Baltimore, Md./Reach! Partnership) came in 11th in the triple jump with a school record and personal-best of 10.09m, knocking off her own mark of 9.90m set on May 8, 2023.
- In the 400m dash, sophomore Savannah Owens (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) broke the school record with a personal-best time of 1:01.33 for 13th place, displacing Arizzi's previous record of 1:02.75 from March 16. Arizzi finished 17th with a personal record of 1:01.96 while Ojulu notched a season-best time of 1:06.30 for 27th place.
- Additionally, sophomore Pamela Angel-Aguilar (Millersville, Md./Old Mill) clocked a personal record of 1:12.64 for 34th place.
- Senior Amira Whitaker (Silver Spring, Md./Einstein) threw the javelin 15.00m for 15th place while taking 22nd in the shot put with 9.01m.
- First-year Safiya Stimely (Linthicum, Md./Broadneck) placed 16th in the discus throw with 26.69m while coming in 26th in the shot put with 8.12m and 28th in the hammer throw (23.66m).
- Senior captain Brittney Douglas (Port Republic, Md./Calvert) clocked a 2:26.83 for 18th in the 800m while first-year Kaylee Holston (Sunderland, Md./Huntingtown) came in 42nd in 2:38.22. Sophomore Dina Jones (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone) registered a personal-best time of 2:48.85 for 49th. Jones also ran a 20.97 for 20th in the 100m hurdles.
- Sophomore captain Fladaina Bruno (Columbia, Md./Oakland Mills) took 24th in the hammer throw with 27.63m while sophomore Nayev Pumphrey (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore City College) threw the discus 24.12m for 25th place.
- Senior captain Betsy Robey (Kensington, Md./Stone Ridge) tallied a personal-best time of 5:17.49 for 42nd in the 1500m while Holston ran a 5:38.26 for 58th place. First-year Weiya Carter (Towson, Md./Towson) also had a personal record with 5:47.44 for 61st place.
- Tolson led the Seahawks in the 200m dash with a time of 29.78 for 44th while Jones finished right behind Tolson in 30.16 for 45th.
