Frederick, MD-- The St. Mary's College of Maryland Baseball Team (7-15) traveled to Hood College (21-14) for a mid-week non-conference matchup. The Seahawks fell to the Blazers, 12-9.

How It Happened

• The Blazers scored the first 11 runs of the game over the course of the first three innings.

• The Seahawks got on the board after an Aaron Wathen double in the top of the fourth scored Adrian Auber and Cole Tarleton, who both singled earlier in the inning. 

• Adrian Auber recorded an RBI double in the top of the fifth to give St. Mary's their third run of the day.

• The Seaahawks scored two more runs over the course of the sixth and seventh inning on a Nick Malone fielder's choice, and a Adrian Auber sac fly.

• The flood gates opened in the top of the eighth inning where the Seahawks scored four runs, cutting the Charger lead to just two. Layne Lesko and Chase O'Dell each recorded RBI singles and the Seaahwks scored another two runs unearned to inch closer to Hood.

• The Blazers scored their 12th run in the bottom of the eighth inning. 

• Hood would go on to win 12-9.

Inside the Box Score

• Chase O'Dell, Adrian Auber, Aaron Wathen, Corey Brown, and Layne Lesko all had two hits. 

• Adrian Auber and Aaron Wathen each had two RBI's. 

• Willie Nelson went four innings and gave up nine earned runs. Nick Russo pitched two and a quarter innings and gave up one earned run and two hits.
