Bridgewater, VA- The St. Mary's College of Maryland Volleyball team (3-4) traveled to Virginia for a road non-conference matchup with the Eagles of Bridgewater University (7-2). The Seahawks fell to the Eagles 3-0.

How it Happened

The Eagles jumped out to a 5-1 lead in set one. St. Mary's would continue to fight and climbed back to tie it at six a piece. Bridgwater regained control of the match shortly thereafter and extended their lead to eight. The Eagles ultimately took set one 25-17.

St. Mary's jumped out to a fast start in the second set, taking a 9-3 lead. The Eagles responded with a six point run of their own to knot things up at nine. Bridgewater used that momentum to carry them through the rest of the set. The Eagles took set two 25-16 to take a 2-0 lead in the match.Â

Bridgewater once again used a fast start to remain in control the rest of the match. The Eagles led 14-6 to begin the match and cruised from that point on. The Eagles went on to win 25-17 to claim the match.Â
