Alyssa McLane Shines as St. Mary's College Women's Soccer Defeats Wilson in United East Conference Opener

Chambersburg, PA. - The St. Mary's College of Maryland Women's Soccer Team (9-1-1) began United East Conference play with a road contest against Wilson College (7-1-2). The Seahawks came out on top, besting the Phoenix 3-0.

How it Happened

  • The Seahawks once again used a quick start to jump out to an early advantage. Alyssa McLane found the back of the net in the fourth minute off a Makayla Marvray assist to give St. Mary's a 1-0 lead. 

  • Alyssa McLane continued her fast start to the game, striking again in the 31st minute. Brooke Hall assisted McLane on her second goal of the game as the Seaahwks took a 2-0 lead. 

  • St. Mary's out shot Wilson 12-3 in the first half. The Phoenix put all three shots on goal, but Kyleigh Bland turned them all away. 

  • For the third time of the day, Alyssa McLane found the back of the net. McLane received an assist from Ashlyn Bonner to complete the hat trick and give St. Mary's a 3-0 lead in the 55th minute.

  • The Seahawks continued to dominate time of possession, out shooting the Phoenix 11-2 in the second half. Kylie Wells picked up a save in the second half. St. Mary's held on to win, 3-0.
