Virginia Beach, Va. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's indoor track and field team travelled to Virginia Beach, Va. for the Marlin Invitational hosted by Virginia Wesleyan University.  The Seahawks competed against all three NCAA Divisions and independent track clubs, breaking multiple St. Mary's records.
 
How It Happened:

• Three Seahawks ran in the 60 meter dash, with first-year Kayla Thomas earning a personal best of 10.68 in the Prelims.
• First-year Rocksann Smith set a new St. Mary's school record and personal record in the 200m with a time of 27.31, earning 18^th place in a strong field. Kayla Thomas also set a personal best of 38.01.
• The top three Seahawks in the 400 meter finished in quick succession.  Avery Arizzi finished in 16^th with a time of 1:05.50. Dami Akinsanya followed after earning 18^th in a time of 1:09.57.  Chloe Tolson closed out the top three in a time of 1:10.10 taking 19^th.
• Mileah Cotton set the St. Mary's record and personal record in the 800m run. First-year Cotton finished in a time of 2:28.81 earning a 9^th finish. Madison Kingsley finished in 2:50.63. Elise Geiger finished with a time of 3:11.35.
• Mileah Cotton notched a strong performance to lead the Seahawks in the 1 Mile, breaking the St. Mary's school record and finishing with a personal record of 5:33.75. Macy Woroniecki closed behind with a time of 5:51.23 earning 12^th. Ariana Lecouras and Elise Geiger both finished with new personal records of 6:20.04 and 6:56.93 respectively.
• Three Seahawks competed in the 5000 Meter event, led by Ella Mitchell earning a 5^th place finish in 20:51.87.  Ariana Lecouras finished right behind taking 6^th place in a time of 21:57.37, earning a personal best.  Madison Kingsley rounded out the Seahawks with a 7^th finish in a time of 22:09.01
• The 4x400 meter relay squad of Rocksann Smith, Avery Arizzi, Chay'La Rivers, and Mileah Cotton earned 8^th with a time of 4:24.62
• First-year Rocksann Smith set a St. Mary's record and personal best in the Long Jump, jumping 4.88 meters in the second jump of three attempts.
• Four Seahawks competed in the Shot Put event, led by 6^th place finish Jillian Zukley with a throw of 11.71m.
• Jillian Zukley has once again broken the St. Mary's school record and personal best in the Women's Weight Throw, earning a throw of 13.79 meters. Rounding out the top three Seahawks are Fladaina Bruno and Safi Stimely earning 10.94m and 10.61m respectively.
