La Plume, Pa. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's volleyball team cruised to a straight-set victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating Keystone College 3–0 (25–14, 25–14, 25–10) in United East Conference action at the Gambal Athletic Center.
The Seahawks (9–11, 3–1 United East) put together a dominant all-around performance, hitting .244 as a team while holding the Giants (1–17, 0–4 United East) to a –.122 hitting percentage.
Maya Mauro led the balanced St. Mary's attack with six kills, 14 digs, and a service ace, while Julia Bobrowski tallied seven kills, two aces, and nine total points. Kaleigh Wiseman added four kills and a block assist, and Faith Shockley contributed three kills and a block assist.
The setting duo of Camilla Galeano and Arielle Lubeck fueled the offense, combining for 20 assists and three service aces, while Stella Marrero anchored the defense with a team-high 16 digs.
St. Mary's never trailed in the opening and final sets, using efficient serving and strong defensive pressure to keep Keystone on its heels throughout. The Seahawks totaled 56 digs, eight aces, and five blocks in the win.
The victory marks St. Mary's third United East win of the season as the team continues to climb the conference standings.
