St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's volleyball team continued its strong conference form on Tuesday night, sweeping Wilson College 3–0 (25–17, 25–13, 25–6) inside the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center Arena.
The win improved the Seahawks to 10–11 overall and 4–1 in United East action, while the Phoenix dropped to 0–18 (0–5 United East).
Maya Mauro led the Seahawks with 13 kills on an impressive .423 hitting percentage, while Erianna Mendieta added nine kills and hit .438. Faith Shockley recorded three kills and five total blocks, and Alex Williams added seven kills and two block assists in an efficient showing at the net.
Julia Bobrowski was strong from the service line, tallying five aces, while setters Camilla Galeano and Lauren Panageotou combined for 27 assists to keep the offense in rhythm. Stella Marrero anchored the defense with a team-high 11 digs as St. Mary's held Wilson to a –.025 hitting percentage.
The Seahawks hit a season-best .356 as a team, committing just nine attack errors while posting nine service aces and ten total blocks. St. Mary's never trailed in the final two sets, closing out the match on a 13–1 run to secure the sweep.
The Seahawks return to action this Saturday, October 18 at 12:00 p.m., when they host Cedar Crest College for Senior Day inside the O'Brien Arena.
