St. Mary's City, Md. – October 18, 2025 – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's volleyball team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday with a strong showing at home, earning a 3–0 sweep over Cedar Crest College before falling 3–0 to Eastern University in the second match of the tri-meet inside the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center Arena.
With the split, the Seahawks move to 11–12 overall and 5–1 in United East Conference play.
In the opening match, St. Mary's dominated from start to finish, sweeping Cedar Crest by scores of 25–13, 25–15, 25–14. The Seahawks hit an impressive .304 as a team, led by Julia Bobrowski's 12 kills and .321 hitting percentage. Maya Mauro added six kills and three aces, while Sanaa Porter and Faith Shockley combined for nine kills and six total blocks.
Setter Arielle Lubeck guided the offense with 28 assists, and Stella Marrero anchored the defense with eight digs and five service aces. The Seahawks never trailed in the opening set and closed the match on a 10–1 run to complete the sweep.
In their second match of the day, St. Mary's battled a strong nonconference opponent in Eastern University, falling 3–0 (25–22, 25–18, 25–15). Maya Mauro once again led the attack with 15 kills, while Faith Shockley added five kills and two blocks. Libero Stella Marrero posted a team-high 16 digs, and setter Camilla Galeano tallied 10 assists and six digs.
The Seahawks hit .092 as a team against Eastern and stayed competitive through the first two sets before the Eagles pulled away late.
St. Mary's will return to action on Wednesday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m., hosting Penn State Brandywine in the Michael P. O'Brien ARC Arena.
