Sam Santos' (Columbia, Md./Oakland Mills) goal in the 28th minute proved to be the difference for the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's soccer team Wednesday night (Oct. 15). St. Mary's College (9-5-1, 6-0-0 UEC) stretched its win streak to six with a 1-0 triumph over Penn State Berks (3-11-0, 2-2-0 UEC) in United East Conference action.
How It Happened
- The Seahawks controlled possession from start to finish but Josh Martin kept Berks in the game with strong play in goal.
- Santos broke through at 27:14 as he found the top right corner from the left side of the penalty box off an assist from sophomore forward Nick Haney (Chesapeake Beach, Md./Northern).
- SMCM outshot the Nittany Lions, 14-0, in the second half with four being turned away by Martin, one hitting the crossbar, and the others off target.
