ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Senior forward
Briana Allen (Bowie, Md./Mount de Sales) registered career-highs of three goals and seven points in leading the St. Mary's College of Maryland field hockey team to their fifth consecutive conference regular-season championship title. St. Mary's College (11-5, 4-0 UEC) blanked Wilson College (5-9, 2-2 UEC), 5-0, in the regular-season finale on Senior Day.

By securing its fifth straight league regular-season championship title, SMCM stretches its undefeated conference record to 26-0 and claim the top seed in the conference playoffs for the fifth consecutive season. St. Mary's College has not lost a conference game since a 1-0 loss to Christopher Newport University on Oct. 30, 2019, when the Seahawks were still members of the Capital Athletic Conference. SMCM went 17-0 in the Atlantic East Conference and in two seasons in the United East, St. Mary's College is 9-0.
The Seahawks will face No. 4 seed Lancaster Bible College (3-12, 1-3 UEC) in the semifinals of the 2025 United East Field Hockey Championship Tournament on Sat., Nov. 1, at the Jamie L. Roberts Stadium. Game time and ticket prices will be announced later.
How It Happened
- SMCM opened the scoring less than five minutes into the game as Watkins found the back of the cage for an unassisted goal at 4:39.
- Wilson stepped up its defense and kept St. Mary's College off the scoreboard for the rest of the first half, sending the hosts into halftime with a 1-0 lead.
- The curtain rose on The Allen Show in the third quarter as Allen scored twice in a four-minute span to give the Seahawks a 3-0 advantage at 40:00.
- Allen struck again at the beginning of the fourth period as she pushed in a second pass from Ziegler at 46:10.
- Lopez put the cherry on top with 33 seconds left in the game for her fourth of the season.

- SMCM outshot the Phoenix, 26-4, including putting 15 shots on goal to Wilson's two attempts.
- St. Mary's College notched an 8-2 margin in penalty corners.
- The Seahawks now lead the all-time series with Wilson, 6-3. SMCM has won the last five meetings while outscoring the Phoenix, 18-0, during the five-game win streak.

- Allen finished the afternoon with three goals and an assist while Ziegler dished out two assists.
- Sophomore goalie Sophia Kent (Chesterville, Md./Gunston) made two saves in recording her fourth shutout and improving to 9-5 on the season.
Wilson
- Erin Sullivan finished the game with eight saves while Payton Kendall and Hannah Bost each had a defensive save.
- The third-seeded Phoenix will travel to Middletown, Pa., to face No. 2 seed Penn State Harrisburg in the semifinals.
