St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's volleyball team continued its strong late-season push on Tuesday evening, rolling to a 3–0 sweep of Penn State Berks (25–7, 25–12, 25–13) inside the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center Arena.
With the victory, the Seahawks improved to 13–13 overall and 7–2 in United East action, closing in on a top seeding position for the upcoming conference tournament.
St. Mary's delivered one of its most efficient offensive performances of the season, hitting .344 as a team while controlling every phase of the match. Erianna Mendieta led the way with 10 kills on a .353 hitting percentage, while Julia Bobrowski added eight kills and a pair of service aces. Faith Shockley and Maggie Mohler combined for 13 kills and four total blocks to power the front line.
Setters Camilla Galeano and Arielle Lubeck kept the offense in rhythm, teaming up for 20 assists and four aces. In the back row, Stella Marrero posted 10 digs, helping hold Berks to a –.024 hitting percentage for the match.
The Seahawks raced out to a 17–1 start in the opening set and never looked back, totaling 10 service aces and 12 blocks in a wire-to-wire performance that showcased both efficiency and defensive intensity.
St. Mary's now turns the page to its final United East match of the regular season, traveling to Lancaster Bible College on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with momentum building toward postseason play
