St. Mary’s College Women’s Volleyball Falls on the Road at Penn State Harrisburg

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's volleyball team dropped a United East Conference matchup to Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday afternoon, falling 3-0 (25-7, 25-18, 25-15) inside the Capital Union Building. With the result, the Seahawks move to 6-10 overall and 1-1 in conference play, while the Nittany Lions improve to 10-4 and 3-0 in the United East.

The Seahawks found their rhythm in the second and third sets but were unable to overcome Penn State Harrisburg's efficient .337 hitting performance. St. Mary's tallied 25 kills and 47 digs in the match while forcing 20 attack errors from the Lions.

Julia Bobrowski paced the Seahawks' offense with eight kills on a .182 clip, adding six digs and a service ace. Maya Mauro followed with seven kills and six digs, while Sanaa Porter chipped in three kills, two block assists, and a solo block. Erianna Mendieta and Kaleigh Wiseman added depth to the attack with three and two kills, respectively.

Camilla Galeano led the team in assists with 10 and added two service aces and six digs. Lauren Panageotou contributed six assists and seven total points between setting, defense, and serving, while Stella Marrero anchored the back row with three digs.

St. Mary's will look to bounce back on Monday, October 6, when the Seahawks return home to host Albright College in a 5:00 p.m. non-conference matchup at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium.
