St. Mary's City, Md. — The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's volleyball team delivered a confident performance Monday night, defeating Albright College 3–1 (25–11, 25–17, 23–25, 25–8) inside the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center Arena. With the win, the Seahawks improve to 7–10 overall and 1–1 in United East play, while Albright falls to 4–10 (1–1 MAC Commonwealth).
The Seahawks controlled the tempo early, dominating the first two sets behind strong serving and efficient hitting. After dropping a tight third frame, St. Mary's stormed back with authority in the fourth, closing out the match 25–8.
Maya Mauro paced the Seahawks with 12 kills on an impressive .500 hitting percentage, while Sanaa Porter and Erianna Mendieta each tallied 9 kills to fuel the attack. Mendieta added three aces and 11 digs, and Faith Shockley contributed four kills on .500 hitting.
Running the offense, Camilla Galeano notched 18 assists, four aces, and 11 digs, while Lauren Panageotou chipped in 13 assists and steady back-row play. Elizabeth Childs and Stella Marrero each added double-digit digs and combined for eight service aces, keeping Albright on its heels from the service line.
As a team, St. Mary's hit .233 with 48 kills and racked up 21 service aces—their second-highest total of the season—while holding Albright to just .075 hitting.
