ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – First-year guard
Korey Blair (Baltimore, Md./Overlea) put up a career-best 21 points as the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's basketball team stepped out of United East Conference play Wednesday night (Dec. 12). St. Mary's College (3-4) dropped a 77-66 decision to in-state rival Salisbury University (4-6).
How It Happened
- The Seahawks opened with a 3-0 run following an old-fashioned three-point play by sophomore James Crimaudo (Riva, Md./South River) at 19:23 to give the hosts their biggest lead of the contest.
- Scoring was back and forth over the next three minutes before SU broke a 7-7 tie with a 16-8 run to stake a 23-15 advantage with 9:17 remaining in the half.
- SMCM briefly reclaimed the lead behind consecutive three-pointers from Blair for a 34-31 margin at 1:48; however, Salisbury headed into the locker room with a one-point lead following a 6-2 burst to end the half.
- The Sea Gulls took control early in the second half with a 9-2 stretch and went on to establish a multi-possession lead throughout the final eight minutes.

- St. Mary's College stayed within striking distance with 16-of-18 (88.9%) shooting from the free throw line.
- SU outrebounded the Seahawks, 44-31, including grabbing 20 offensive boards which led to 16 second chance points.
- Salisbury dominated the interior, posting a 44-24 margin in paint scoring.
- The Seahawks finished the game with a 37.5-field goal percentage (21-of-56) after being held to just nine field goals made in the second half.

- Blair notched a game- and career-best 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting, including three triples, plus career-highs of four steals and two blocks.
- Crimaudo contributed 17 points as he hit three three-pointers as well. He also notched seven rebounds and three assists.
- Senior captain Jake Koverman (Severna Park, Md./Southern) added 13 points, five caroms, and season-best two blocks.
Salisbury Game Notes
- Daniel Oyediran paced the Sea Gulls with 19 points off the bench.
