  • The turning point in the first half came when four consecutive points by Brian Griffin sparked a 19-11 push over a five-minute span to break a 22-22 draw and give host Goucher its biggest lead of the game, 41-33, with 2:01 left until halftime. The Gophers ended up with a 41-36 halftime advantage.
  • The Seahawks gained their first lead greater than three points at 13:58 when Quintero scored five straight to hand his team a 49-44 margin.

  • The final draw was 60-60 with 4:36 remaining when a Quintero layup leveled the score.
  • SMCM sealed the win by going 8-for-12 at the free throw line while the Seahawk defense held Goucher scoreless from the field. The Gophers went 0-of-8 down the stretch, notching just three points at the charity stripe.
