St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's tennis team hosted Penn State Berks for the fourth United East conference match of the season. The Seahawks controlled play against the Lions, winning a clean 7-0. The win moves the Seahawks to a perfect 4-0 in conference play.
How It Happened:
Doubles
- Cleo Solomon (Waldorf, Md./ North Point) and Amber Manspeaker (Finksburg, Md./ Westminster) competed in the No. 1 position for the Seahawks. Solomon and Manspeaker won with a score of 6-0.
- Giselle Harris (Easton, Md./ Easton) and Lauren Lovejoy (Newburg, Md./ La Plata) won their match 6-0 in the No. 2 doubles tandem against the Lions.
- Stella Manns (White Hall, Md./North Harford) and Lily Spedden finished the doubles sweep in the No. 3 spot, winning 6-2.
Singles
- Cleo Solomon (Waldorf, Md./ North Point) comfortably won the match in two sets in the No. 1 singles match, winning 6-0 both sets against the Lions.
- Amber Manspeaker (Finksburg, Md./ Westminster) competed in the No. 2 spot controlling the match in two sets, winning 6-0 for both sets.
- Giselle Harris (Easton, Md./ Easton) won in two sets in the No. 3 match. Harris defeated the Lions 6-1, 6-0.
- Lauren Lovejoy (Newburg, Md./ La Plata) in the No. 4 matchup came out on top. Lovejoy won in two sets, 6-1, 6-0.
- Zoe Wilson (Clarksburg, Md./ Academy of the Holy Cross) dominated in the No. 5 matchup, winning 6-0 in both sets.
- Lily Spedden concluded the sweep in the No. 6 position in two sets. Spedden defeated the Lions in two sets, 6-0 for both.
