St. Mary's City, MD-- The St. Mary's College of Maryland Baseball Team (8-10) hosted Saint Elizabeth (13-15) for a Sunday doubleheader. The Seahawks swept the Eagles, winning game one 5-1 and game two 12-2.
How It Happened (Game 1)

St. Mary's took a 1-0 lead following the bottom of the second. Rhett Fletcher knocked a triple, setting up a Corey Brown sacrifice fly RBi to give the Seahawks their first run of the day.

The Seahawks added another run in the bottom of the fourth once again following a triple, this time coming from George Berbakos. Trevor Smith knocked a sacrifice fly to bring Berbakos home from third.

The Seahawks broke the game open in the bottom of the fifth Corey Brown and Cole Tarleton both hit triples for the Seahawks to score two runs. Tarleton went on to score an unearned run later in the inning as St. Mary's took their 5-0 lead into the final innings.

The Eagles scored one run in the top of the ninth, but the Seahakws were able to slam the door shut and hold on to win 5-0.

How It Happened (Game 2)

The Seahawks got off to a fast start scoring four runs in the bottom of the first. Eli Shafer kicked off the inning with a solo homer. George Berbakos sent home another run with an RBI double. Trevor Smith connected on the second home run of the inning for the Seahawks, this one a two run shot to give St. Mary's a 4-0 lead.

Saint Elizabeth responded with a run in the top of the second.

After a couple scoreless innings, the Seahawks bats exploded for five runs in the bottom of the fourth. Ian Walters led off the inning with a solo home run. Eli Shafer went on to ground out later in the inning that allowed Corey Brown to score from third. Cole Tarleton made the play of the game with a three run homer to give the Seahawks a 9-1 lead.

Cole Tarleton added another RBI to the stat sheet with an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Saint Elizabeth added a run in the top of the seventh, but the Seahawks put two more runs on the board in the bottom of the eighth to end the game. St. Mary's went on to win 12-2.
