Middletown, PA-- The St. Mary's College of Maryland Baseball Team (9-12) made the trip to Middletown, Pennsylvania for a two game clash with No. 14 Penn State Harrisburg (25-8-1). The Seahawks fell 6-3 in game one, and 16-6 in game two.Â
How It Happened (Game 1)

The Seahawks and Lions played four scoreless innings before Penn State Harrisburg finally broke the ice in the bottom of the fifth. The Lions scored three to take the first lead by either team on the day.Â

The Seahawks responded with one run in the top of the sixth. George Berbakos grounded into a fielder's choice to score Rhett Fletcher from third after he singled earlier in the inning.Â

The Lions scored three more runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 6-1 lead.Â

St. Mary's chipped into the deficit with a one run top of the seventh. Corey Brown made it home on a wild pitch. Brown walked earlier in the inning to get on base.Â

The Seahawks began their final rally in the bottom of the ninth. Corey Brown singled to lead off the inning to give St .Mary's life. Brown advanced to second on a passed ball and made it home the next at bat after Layne Lesko singled. Unfortunately for the Seahaws, the comeback attempt ended there as they fell 6-3.Â

Ryder Chalk picked up the loss on the mound. Chalk went six innings and gave up five earned runs while striking out two. Jordan Bonhoff pitched two innings on the mound for the Seahawks.Â

Penn State Harrisburg opened up the scoring with a run in the bottom of the first.Â

The Seahawks responded with a run of their own in the top of the second courtesy of an RBI single from Corey Brown.Â

The Lions exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the second.Â

St. Mary's put themselves right back in the game in the top of the third inning with a three run homer from Cole Tarleton.Â

Penn State Harrisburg went on to score seven runs over the course of the fourth and fifth innings to take a 16-4 lead.Â

The Seahawks were able chip into the Lions lead in the top of the seventh. Quinn Gillis scored a run on a sacrifice fly ball. Ryan Matthews singled to center field to score Skylar Kaplan to cut the deficit to 10. That is as close as the Seahawks could get, as they went on to fall 16-6.

Tommy Brill earned the loss on the mound, going one and one quarter innings. Anthony Walsh, David Baggott, Logan Connolly, and Adam Ferony all made appearance pitching as well.Â
