St. Mary's City, Md. – The #1 seeded St. Mary's College of Maryland women's tennis team hosted #4 seeded Lancaster Bible College for the semifinal match of the 2025 United East Conference Championship. The Seahawks claimed victory over the Chargers 4-0, where the championship tournament requires only the first team to reach 4 points to win.
The Seahawks will take on #2 seeded Penn State Harrisburg for the championship match on May 4
th at the Hempfield Rec Center in Landisville, Pennsylvania.
How It Happened:
Doubles
- Lauren Lovejoy (Newburg, Md./ La Plata) and Stella Manns (White Hall, Md./North Harford) earned an automatic win in the No. 3 spot against no opponent.
- Cleo Solomon (Waldorf, Md./ North Point) and Amber Manspeaker (Finksburg, Md./ Westminster) earned the doubles point in order of finish in the No. 1 position for the Seahawks. Solomon and Manspeaker beat the Chargers 6-4.
Singles
- Zoe Wilson (Clarksburg, Md./ Academy of the Holy Cross) got the first Seahawk singles point in the No. 6 spot after an automatic win against no opponent.
- Lauren Lovejoy (Newburg, Md./ La Plata) came out on top in the No. 5 matchup, winning 6-2 both sets for the third overall Seahawk point.
- Sarah Levit (Rockville, Md./Richard Montgomery) sent the Seahawks to the upcoming championship match with the win in the No. 3 match in order of finish, concluding the day with 6-2, 6-0.
