Potter, Smith Lead SMCM Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Contingent on All-United East Teams

LATHAM, N.Y. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's outdoor track & field team collected three major awards at the conclusion of the 2025 United East Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 3-4. In addition, 13 Seahawks garnered All-United East honors.
 
Fifth-year Head Coach Reava Potter notched her first UEC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year award after leading SMCM to its first-ever United East title in women's outdoor track & field with a dominant 91-point margin of victory. St. Mary's College notched 225 points for top honors amongst the 10-team field. Last season, the Seahawks came in second.
 
Overall, Potter has garnered seven United East Coach of the Year honors – four in women's cross country, one in men's cross country, and one in women's indoor track & field.
 
First-year Rocksann Smith (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore City College) became the second straight Seahawk to earn both the United East Field Athlete of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards as Jillian Zukley '27 did the same at last year's inaugural United East Championships. Smith tallied 35 points with seven Top 3 finishes, including winning the 100m hurdles, the long jump, and the triple jump.
 
Smith finished with three First Team All-United East awards as she captured the 100m hurdles in 17.43, claimed first in the long jump with a school record 5.22m, and took first in the triple jump with a school record 10.77m. She then added a pair of Second Team honors with second-place finishes in the high jump (1.44m) and the school record-setting 4x100m relay. Smith wrapped up her outdoor championship debut with two Third Team awards in the 100m (13.06) and the 200m (27.27).
 
First-year Mileah Cotton (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) tallied two First Team All-United East awards by winning the 800m with a United East championship meet record 2:24.25 and the 1500m with a personal-best 4:59.61. Cotton also picked up a Second Team honor as a member of the second-place 4x400m relay.
 
First-year Ella Mitchell (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr School) racked up a pair of First Team awards by taking first in the 5,000m in 19:55.12 and the 10,000m with a personal record 42:57.26.
 
Sophomore captain Avery Arizzi (Arnold, Md./Broadneck) earned her first career outdoor track & field awards. Arizzi went first in the 400m with a school record and PR of 1:00.85 for a First Team award while being part of the second-place 4x400m relay for Second Team honors. She also took third in the 800m in 2:37.27 for Third Team All-United East.
 
Sophomore captain Jillian Zukley (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) is now a five-time All-United East awardee in outdoor track & field, including four First Team awards. Zukley threw the farthest in the hammer throw, posting a school and United East championship record 45.04m for her fourth career First Team award. She also placed third in the shot put with a distance of 10.77m.
 
First-year Macy Woroniecki (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) collected a pair of Second Team awards with two second-place finishes in the 800m with a PR of 2:35.57 and the 1500m with a personal-best 5:12.12.
 
First-year Oluwadamilola Akinsanya (Washington, D.C./Washington Latin) grabbed two Second Team awards as a member of the second-place 4x100m (school record) and 4x400m relays.
 
Junior Dina Jones (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone) picked up her first career outdoor track & field awards with second place in the 400m hurdles (1:17.95) for Second Team honors and third place in the 100m hurdles (21.16) for a Third Team award.
 
Junior Tramarie Mobray (Glen Burnie, Md./Glen Burnie) and sophomore Saffiyah Gibson (Fort Washington, Md./Central) landed on the Second Team as members of the second-place and school record-setting 4x100m relay while senior Chloe Tolson (Waldorf, Md./North Point) finishes her career as a two-time Second Team All-United East honoree in outdoor track & field after running on the second-place 4x400m relay.
 
Sophomore Alexis Hodges (Sugarland, Texas/Chopticon (Md.)) finished third in the 10,000m in 54:35.66 for a Third Team award while sophomore Ellie Geiger (California, Md./Leonardtown) claimed third place in the 3,000m steeplechase in 15:30.15 for Third Team honors.
