ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Fourth-year Head Coach Alexis Calloway released the 2025 schedule for the St. Mary's College of Maryland volleyball program. Seahawk fans will be able to catch the team at the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center (MPOARC) Arena for nine dates this season.

Fresh off their 2024 United East Conference Tournament semifinal run, St. Mary's College will take on six participants from the 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament, five conference tournament champions, and three league tournament runners-up.

In addition, seven of this year's 10 United East opponents took part in the 2024 conference playoffs while two squads finished ranked in the Top 25 in the final American Volleyball Coaches Association national poll.

The Seahawks posted an 18-11 (9-1 UEC) overall record last season, advancing to the conference tournament semifinals for the first time since 2015 and notching their first winning season since 2016. SMCM also tallied the most conference wins in program history with nine, surpassing the earlier mark of seven in 2008. The team also registered their second straight 10-plus win season for the first time in eight years.

For its first six matches of the season, St. Mary's College will be on the road as the Seahawks open the campaign at Greensboro College on Aug. 30 with matches against Greensboro and Warren Wilson College. Last year, Greensboro earned a spot in the first round of the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament.

Next, the Seahawks compete in the Washington & Lee University Invitational on Sept. 5-6. SMCM will face Southern Virginia University on Sept. 5 before taking on the host school and the University of Mary Washington the following day.

W&L finished last season as an NCAA quarterfinalist and ranked No. 8 in Division III after claiming its second straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) tournament championship. Southern Virginia, the 2024 USA South tournament champion, made an appearance in the first round of the NCAA Tournament while Mary Washington was a semifinalist in the Coast-To-Coast (C2C) Athletic Conference.

St. Mary's College wraps up its opening road trip with action at Christopher Newport University, who ranked No. 21 at the end of last season after advancing to the third round of the NCAA Tournament and winning C2C tournament championship.

The Seahawks then welcome Regent University and Eastern Mennonite University to the MPOARC Arena on Sept. 13 for their first home matches of 2025 before heading to Salisbury University on Sept. 17. Salisbury finished as the C2C runner-up and appeared in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Another home tri-match follows on Sept. 20 as SMCM hosts Hood College and Marymount (Va.) University before traveling to Randolph College on Sept 23. Marymount is the three-time defending Atlantic East Conference tournament champion who also earned a spot in the NCAA first round.

St. Mary's College hosts Washington College on Sept. 25 before going on a three-match road trip. The Seahawks begin league play with a match at the University of Valley Forge on Sept. 27 before facing McDaniel College in non-conference action on Oct. 2. The road trip ends at Penn State Harrisburg, a United East semifinalist, on Oct. 4.

SMCM has a two-match homestand with Albright College on Oct. 6 and Penn State Abington on Oct. 8 in a United East match-up. The team then heads north to face Rowan University, a New Jersey Athletic Conference semifinalist, on Oct. 10 in non-league play before taking on Keystone College, a United East quarterfinalist, on Oct. 11.

A four-match homestand ensues for St. Mary's College, starting with Wilson College, who made a first round appearance in the United East Tournament, on Oct. 14. The Seahawks then host Cedar Crest College, a United East first rounder, and Eastern University, the 2024 MAC Commonwealth Conference tournament runner-up, on Oct. 18 for a Hawktoberfest tri-match. SMCM entertains Penn State Brandywine in a league tilt for the fourth home match.
