St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's soccer team battled through 90 minutes of pressure to secure a 0–0 draw against The College of New Jersey on Saturday afternoon at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium.
The Seahawks leaned on a standout performance from goalkeeper Kyleigh Bland, who recorded seven saves to notch her second consecutive shutout to open the 2025 season. Bland made five stops in the opening half and two more in the second, including a diving effort in the 79th minute to preserve the clean sheet.
While the Lions (1-0-1) controlled much of the possession and outshot the Seahawks 19–0, the St. Mary's defensive unit anchored by Brooke Hall, Ashlyn Bonner, and Allie Petryszak stood firm under constant pressure. The Seahawks also weathered six corner kicks and eight team fouls while generating a pair of second-half corner opportunities of their own.
The draw pushes St. Mary's to 1-0-1 on the season, extending the program's unbeaten start. The Seahawks return to action on Wednesday September 3rd when they take on Hood College as non-conference play continues.
