St. Mary's City, Md. – September 13, 2025 – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's volleyball team turned in a dominant performance at home on Saturday, sweeping both Eastern Mennonite University and Regent University in straight sets at the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center Arena. The pair of victories pushes the Seahawks back to .500 on the season at 4-4.
In the opener, St. Mary's handled Eastern Mennonite (1-6) with scores of 25-23, 25-18, and 25-21. The Seahawks found their rhythm offensively in the final two sets, highlighted by 17 kills apiece. Maya Mauro led the attack with 15 kills, three service aces, and 12 digs, while Kaleigh Wiseman added 11 kills and a block. Arielle Lubeck dished out 16 assists to pace the offense, and Stella Marrero tallied nine digs and an ace. Defensively, the Seahawks held the Royals to just a .074 hitting percentage.
In the afternoon match, the Seahawks carried their momentum into a 3-0 sweep of Regent (6-3), winning by scores of 25-18, 25-19, and 25-19. Mauro again powered the offense with 16 kills on a .243 hitting clip, while Wiseman and Sanaa Porter combined for 11 kills and three blocks. Lauren Panageotou and Camilla Galeano directed the attack with 18 and 13 assists, respectively, as the Seahawks hit .269 as a team. Defensively, Julia Bobrowski recorded a team-high 14 digs and added two service aces.
Across both matches, St. Mary's racked up 89 kills, 122 digs, and 11 service aces while allowing opponents to hit under .100 combined.
The Seahawks return to action on Wednesday, September 17, traveling to Salisbury for a 7:00 p.m. matchup.
