St. Mary’s Women’s Volleyball Falls in Straight Sets at Salisbury

Salisbury, Md. – September 17, 2025 – St. Mary's College of Maryland women's volleyball (4-5) dropped a road matchup at Salisbury University (7-3) on Wednesday evening, falling in straight sets (18-25, 20-25, 21-25) at the Maggs Activities Center.

The Seahawks improved their hitting percentage each set but were unable to overcome a strong Sea Gull attack that finished with a .250 hitting clip.

Sophomore Maya Mauro led the offense with seven kills to go along with 10 digs and 8.5 points. Classmate Erianna Mendieta also tallied seven kills and eight points, while junior Hope Parrish chipped in five kills. Freshman setter Camilla Galeano handed out nine assists and picked up nine digs, while senior Lauren Panageotou matched those numbers in both categories.

On the defensive side, Sanaa Porter made her presence felt at the net with two solo blocks and one block assist, while Mauro and Mendieta added support at the front line.

Salisbury was led by Kiley McTaggart (11 kills, 13.5 points) and Gwen Eustace (10 kills, .667 hitting percentage), with setter Julie Altieri pacing the Sea Gull offense with 31 assists.

St. Mary's returns home this Saturday, September 20, for a non-conference tri-match, hosting Marymount University and Hood College at the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center Arena.
