St. Mary's City, Md. – September 20, 2025 – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's volleyball team (5-6) picked up a home win over Hood College while falling to Marymount University in a Saturday tri-match at the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center Arena.
In the opener, the Seahawks battled Marymount (3-7) in a four-set contest before coming up short, 20-25, 26-28, 25-22, 20-25. Maya Mauro paced the offense with 16 kills and 11 digs for a double-double, while Hope Parrish added 10 kills and Julia Bobrowski chipped in 8 kills, 15 digs, and four block assists. Setters Camilla Galeano and Lauren Panageotou combined for 39 assists, while Galeano also served up two aces.
St. Mary's bounced back in the afternoon match with a 3-1 victory over Hood (25-21, 25-22, 17-25, 25-17). Mauro once again led the attack with 12 kills, and Sanaa Porter added 7 kills and 2 block assists. Bobrowski turned in another strong performance with 8 kills and 6 digs, while Galeano fueled the offense with 16 assists and a match-high 6 service aces. The Seahawks out-hit Hood .107 to .009 and racked up 14 aces as a team.
With the split, St. Mary's improved to 5-6 on the season.
The Seahawks return to action on Tuesday, September 23, when they travel to Randolph College for a 6:30 p.m. contest.
