Brenna Ziegler's (Newark, Del./Newark Charter) goal early in the fourth frame proved to be the difference in the St. Mary's College of Maryland field hockey team's third consecutive win Saturday afternoon (Sept. 6). How It Happened
- The Seahawks claimed a 1-0 lead at 6:23 as Ziegler sent in a cross from the right side and Allen reverse flicked the ball just inside the near post for her third goal of the season.
- Bridgewater went on the offensive in the second period, outshooting the hosts, 4-1, but sophomore goalkeeper Sophia Kent (Chesterville, Md./Gunston) made two saves to keep the Eagles off the scoreboard. SMCM would head into halftime with a one-goal advantage.
- Just over three minutes into the third quarter, Bridgewater landed on the scoreboard as Abigail Mundhenk found the back of the cage with the game-tying goal at 33:18.
- St. Mary's College maintained the lead at 48:02 when Allen returned the favor, setting up Ziegler at the far post for her third score of 2025.
- The Seahawks withstood a late flurry from Bridgewater over the final eight minutes of the game as the Eagles earned three penalty corners and fired off three shots which were all denied by Kent.

- Carynn Klingler paced the Eagles with five shots while Madalyn Miller made seven saves over the final 30 minutes of the game.
