Hyde, Crimaudo Lead St. Mary’s College Men’s Basketball at Penn College

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – First-year guard Khairi Hyde (Gaithersburg, Md./Wootton) and sophomore James Crimaudo (Riva, Md./South River) combined for 28 points as the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's basketball team continued with United East Conference action Friday evening (Jan. 23). St. Mary's College (7-10, 3-4 UEC) dropped a 77-57 decision at Penn College (4-15, 3-5 UEC).
 
How It Happened
  • Back-to-back game-opening three-pointers gave the Seahawks an early 6-4 lead at 18:49. Crimaudo stretched it to 8-5 with his jumper at 18:16.
  • Penn College opened up a 10-point lead at 13:50 with a 13-0 run as Owen Newcomer hit a pair of triples.
  • SMCM knotted the game at 26-all on a Crimaudo layup at 6:26 before the Wildcats closed out the half with a 10-4 push for a 36-30 advantage at the break.
  • The hosts never relinquished their advantage in the second half as Penn College built a 49-39 lead at 14:16 and continued to create separation, doubling the margin (71-51) with 2:43 remaining in the game.
