LA PLUME, Pa. — The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's soccer team erupted for 11 goals in the first half en route to an 11-0 United East Conference victory over Keystone College Saturday afternoon at the Keystone Turf Field and Track Complex.
The Seahawks (3-6-3, 2-1-0 UEC) wasted little time finding the back of the net, scoring twice in the opening 1:40. Megan Rusk opened the scoring at 1:02 before Alexandra Sarrach doubled the lead 38 seconds later off an assist from Rusk.
St. Mary's continued its offensive onslaught, with Gracie Tourangeau scoring twice in a minute span. Tourangeau's first goal came at the 10:00 mark off another assist from Rusk, while her second came shortly after with Sarrach providing the assist.
Oliviah Walton then scored twice in a 2 minute span, finding the back of the net off an assist from Makayla Marvray before scoring an unassisted goal thereafter.
Jill Kemp added St. Mary's seventh goal in the 222nd minute, finishing off a pass from Keira O'Neail. Walton completed her hat trick five minutes later with an assist from Maddison Spradlin, giving the Seahawks an 8-0 advantage.
The Seahawks added three more goals before halftime. Spradlin scored twice with the second one coming off an assist by Marvray. Hannah Williams capped the first-half scoring in the 36th minute as St. Mary's took an 11-0 lead into the break.
Walton led the Seahawks with three goals, while Tourangeau and Spradlin each recorded two. Rusk finished with one goal and two assists, while Sarrach added a goal and an assist. Marvray contributed two assists, and O'Neail and Spradlin each recorded an assist.
St. Mary's dominated statistically, outshooting Keystone 38-1 and putting 25 shots on frame. The Seahawks also held a 13-0 advantage in corner kicks. Keystone's lone shot came in the second half and was saved by Alexa Holmes.
Holmes made one save to earn the shutout, while Breanna Brown played the first 20 minutes. Keystone goalkeeper Emma Herman made 14 saves in the contest.
The 11-goal performance marked a dominant offensive showing for the Seahawks, who scored all 11 goals in the opening 36 minutes of play.
