ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Junior attackmen
Gavin McKay (Urbana, Md./Urbana) and
Declan Horton (University Park, Md./DeMatha) combined for 13 points (nine goals, four assists) in leading the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's lacrosse team back to the win column. St. Mary's College (5-3) earned a 14-7 non-conference win over SUNY Oneonta (3-4).
How It Happened
- McKay and Horton gave the Seahawks a 2-0 lead at 9:47 with goals 27 seconds apart before Oneonta rattled off three straight to claim a 3-2 margin with 4:26 remaining in the first quarter.
- SMCM then ripped nine goals in a row to stake an 11-3 advantage with 5:28 to go in the first half. Aidan Boyle stopped the bleeding for the Red Dragons and the hosts headed into halftime with an 11-4 lead.
- Oneonta won the third frame, outscoring St. Mary's College, 3-1, to close the gap to 12-7 with 5:56 remaining in the third.
- No goals were scored in the fourth stanza until the final 2:08 of the game as juniors Braeden Colegrove (Lutherville Timonium, Md./Dulaney) and Quinn McLaughlin (Fallston, Md./Fallston) scored a minute apart for the 14-7 final.

- The Seahawks posted a 50-28 shot advantage as well as a 29-13 margin in ground balls as senior Matteo Ciccarello (Crofton, Md./Arundel) scooped up eight.
- SMCM won 16-of-25 faceoffs as Ciccarello went 16-of-23 in the middle of the circle.
- The Red Dragons killed all three of St. Mary's College's extra-man opportunities.

- Senior defenseman Joe Szymanski (Easton, Md./Easton) led the defense with five ground balls, and one caused turnover.
- Sophomore goalie Ty Spencer (Hanover, Md./Indian Creek) collected six saves and one ground ball.

- Mark Restivo made 14 saves for the Red Dragons while Boyle paced the team with three goals.
