NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — St. Mary's College of Maryland fell to No. 16 Christopher Newport University as they completed the series with a 13-0 victory at Captains Park.

The Captains added to their lead in the third inning on a two-run home run by Jacob Koenig, pushing the margin to 5-0. A run in the fourth extended the lead before Christopher Newport broke the game open with a seven-run fifth inning.
Jake Benedict delivered the big blow in the fifth with a grand slam to left field, while Logan Adams followed with a two-run homer later in the frame to stretch the advantage to 13-0.
St. Mary's (7-11) struggled to get their bats going throughout the contest, drawing three walks but unable to record a hit against Ryan Morrison (2-0), who tossed a complete-game no-hitter with eight strikeouts.
Ryan Matthews (3-2) took the loss for the Seahawks, allowing five runs over three innings. Colin Patterson provided a solid inning of relief, while Cam Gill and Colin Bashor combined to finish the game on the mound.
