LATHAM, N.Y. – Zack Kralec (Monkton, Md./Hereford) of the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's outdoor track & field team was selected as the United East Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office Tuesday morning (April 14).
 
For the second straight week, the United East Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week award has gone to a St. Mary's College athlete. This is Kralec's third career outdoor athlete of the week honor.
 
Kralec won the pole vault with a height of 4.62m while placing first in the javelin throw with a throw of 49.29m at the Gallaudet University/Howard University Bison Classic (April 11). The 6-3 senior also came in 17th in the discus throw with 29.37m.
 
The Seahawks will be back in action this weekend at three different meets. On Friday, April 17, SMCM will compete at both the New Captains Classic & Combined Events hosted by Christopher Newport University (Newport News, Va.) as well as the Mustang Stampede Invitational put on by Stevenson University (Owings Mills, Md.).
 
Then on Saturday, April 18, St. Mary's College will head to the Morgan State University Legacy in Baltimore, Md.
