Blair Breaks Long Jump Record as St. Mary’s College Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Competes in Three Meets

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – First-year Korey Blair (Baltimore, Md./Overlea) set the school record in the long jump for a second time this season as the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's outdoor track & field team saw action in meets in Virginia and Maryland. St. Mary's College competed at the Christopher Newport University New Captains Classic & Combined Events (April 17), Stevenson University Mustang Stampede Invitational (April 17), and Morgan State University Legacy Meet (April 18).
 
Blair jumped a personal-best and school record 6.74m to take seventh in the long jump at the Morgan State University Legacy Meet, breaking his own mark of 6.65m from April 3.
 
New Captains Classic & Combined Events
  • Sophomore Owen Swisdak (Sykesville, Md./Century) captured the 10,000m in 40:56.04.
 
Mustang Stampede Invitational
  • Senior Doel Nkalo (Montgomery Village, Md./Watkins Mill) placed fifth in the hammer throw with 32.95m while taking seventh in the shot put with a season-best 10.10m.
  • Junior Noah Fisher (Union Bridge, Md./FSK) collected a pair of seventh-place finishes in the 1500m run (4:51.52) and the 3000m steeplechase (12:13.52).
  • First-year Albert Morris took ninth in the discus throw with 33.01m while Nkalo was 10th with a personal-best 29.18m.
 
Morgan State Legacy Meet
  • First-year Solomon David (Stephen Decatur) finished seventh in the triple jump in 14.06m while taking eighth in the high jump with 1.90m.
  • The foursome of senior Jaedon Aso (Lexington Park, Md./Great Mills), junior Collin Fitzgerald (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck), and seniors Mason Layne (Taneytown, Md./FSK) and Nicholas Haylock (Odenton, Md./Meade) posted a 43.53 for eighth place in the 4x100m relay.
  • Haylock added a 14th-place finish in the 400m hurdles in 58.19 while going 52nd in the 200m dash in 23.61.
  • Three Seahawks notched personal-bests in the 800m run as junior Jake Robey (Kensington, Md./Georgetown Prep) led the way with 1:59.85 for 23rd place. Sophomore Pierson Hogue (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) clocked a 2:02.22 for 29th while sophomore Jack Kuta (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown) came in 33rd in 2:11.48.
  • Sophomore Moses McRae (Philadelphia, Pa./Kents Hill [Maine]) notched a season-best 51.03 to take 24th in the 400m dash while Layne tallied a personal-best 51.81 for 34th place. Additionally, first-year Cooper Breakey (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) ran a personal-best 56.38 for 47th.
  • Junior Bryce Webster (Saint Leonard, Md./Calvert) picked up a 25th-place finish in the 1500m run in 4:40.09.
  • Aso also came in 46th place in the 100m dash in 11.48 while senior Zack Kralec (Monkton, Md./Hereford) put up a personal-best 11.93 for 51st.
