YORK, Pa. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's lacrosse team continued with their seven-game road trip Saturday (April 4), taking on their fourth opponent away from the comforts of the Jamie L. Roberts Stadium. St. Mary's College (8-5) had its three-game win streak halted with an 18-7 loss to No. 8 York College of Pennsylvania (10-1).
How It Happened
- York scored the first goal of the game on an extra-man opportunity two minutes in, but the Seahawks responded with a 3-1 run to claim a 3-2 lead with 5:04 remaining in the first quarter. Sophomore goalie Ty Spencer (Hanover, Md./Indian Creek) knotted the game at 2-2 with his first career goal.
- Blake Morton sparked a 6-0 run for the Spartans with the last goal of the first period and YCP established an 8-3 advantage with nine minutes to go in the first half. A pair of goals by first-year attackman Brady Manankil (Hereford, Md./Hereford) bookended four unanswered York goals and SMCM headed into halftime down 12-5.
- The Spartans outscored St. Mary's College, 3-1, in each of the final two frames for the 18-7 final.

- Senior captain Adam Martin (Kent Island, Md./Kent Island) collected two caused turnovers and two ground balls while senior defenseman Joe Szymanski (Easton, Md./Easton) added five ground balls and one caused turnover as the duo paced the defense.
- Spencer picked up nine saves through the first three quarters while first-year Conner Campbell (Mayo, Md./South River) notched three in the final period.

- Nate Schilling led all players with six points on five goals and an assist while Nash Womack made seven saves in 52:30.
