SMCM Women’s Lacrosse Preps for NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Committee released the 47-team field for the single-elimination 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship Monday morning (May 4). The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's lacrosse team will be making their 13th overall (and fifth consecutive) NCAA appearance.
 
St. Mary's College (7-10), which claimed the United East Conference's automatic qualifying berth, drew No. 12 University of Scranton (15-4) as their first NCAA Tournament opponent. The two teams will square off in the First Round on Saturday, May 9, at 3 pm on the campus of Rowan University in Glassboro, N.J. The Rowan Soccer & Lacrosse Complex will serve as the venue for first- and second-round action.
 
With a win Saturday, the Seahawks would face the host, No. 18 Rowan (14-4), in the second round on Sunday at 3 pm.
 
Tickets will be $10 for adults and $5 for students, senior citizens, and children (2-12). Tickets can be purchased online or onsite. If you plan to purchase onsite, please know that it is a CASHLESS venue.
 
SMCM is fresh off capturing the United East Divisional Championship on April 25 with a 24-2 win over Wilson College. St. Mary's College then collected the program's fifth consecutive United East tournament championship crown on May 2 with a 20-2 victory over Alfred State College in the title game. The Seahawks also notched their fifth straight regular-season championship title.
